a self-governing community of children, ages 5 – 18, and adult staff, directing our own learning in a mixed-age, outdoor-oriented environment. We believe that at any age, our highest quality of learning occurs when we engage freely in activities we choose, both on our own and with each other.
Through our empowered participation in community governance, we are developing respect, accountability, and responsibility together every day.
Our commitment
We welcome and value families of all backgrounds and circumstances. We strive to build an organization that ensures freedom, trust, and equality.
our mission
We create and maintain an environment in which participants enjoy freedom from coercive instruction and participate in active community governance. We recognize and honor the fundamental value and dignity of all individuals, providing a safe space for them to be themselves, and practice autonomy and community engagement, on their way to becoming independent lifelong learners.
our OFFERINGS
Abundant free time to play and connect with the natural world; child led mediation and problem-solving system; the responsibility and freedom of living in a mixed age “mini-society”; field trips, special guests, and entrepreneurial opportunities; financial aid & flexibility.
